China’s Craft Artist Master, one of Seven Old Purple Clay Masters, she was the first female craft artist master in the history and she was good at making floral organs.

Zhu Kexin(died)

Title: Senior Craft Artist

One of Seven Old Purple Clay Masters, his stage name is Kexin, meaning “the modest one could be the teacher”. In 16, he learned from Wang Shengyi and became fellow apprentices with Wu Yungen and Wang Genbao. He was modest in learning and pursued for innovation.

Ren Ganting(died)

Title:Researcher level Senior Craft Artist

One of Seven Old Purple Clay Masters, he was born in a teacher’s family. His eldest brother Gankun was good at engravedpaper, his second elder brother died early and his younger brother Ganru was engaged in the painting of flowers and birds in traditional Chinese style. His family was poor and he had just learned in school for 3 years, but he studied hard and often painted or wrote on the ground. The people surrounding regarded as him as a talent.

Pei Shimin(died)

One of Seven Old Purple Clay Masters, he is also named as Pei Demin. When he was a child, he once studied in school. In 14, he learned ceramic making technology from his brother-in-law Zu Cheng. When he came to Liyong Tao products company in 22, he had be famous in the field.

Wang Yinchun(died)

Title: Researcher level Senior Craft Artist

He started the technology career in as learning from master Jin Ashou. Three years later, he served as technician in the potter. In 24, he made and sold his own dark-red enameled pottery teapot, on which he printed his signature. It made him famous in Shanghai.

Wu Yungen(died)

Title:Master of Qing Dynasty

One of Seven Old Purple Clay Masters, he is also named as Wu Zhilai. In 14, he learned pot making skills from Wang Chunrong. Wang Genbao, Zhukexin and him are fellow apprentices.

Learned from famous artist Wang Yinchun and Pei Shimin, he also studied in the Central Academy of Fine Arts and formed the “He’s Style” in the pot art field.

Bao Zhiqiang
